Approximate Measurements: The top of the ring is comprised of the 4 prong set, round old European cut diamond, which is approximately 10mm in diameter, and weighs approximately 3.55 carats. The diamond has an "SI-2" clarity and is in the "P area" of the "N-O-P" color range. The diamond has good polish and proportions.
The pear shaped, faceted blue sapphire on each side of the diamond is set in 3 prongs. The total carat weight of both sapphires combined is approximately 1.02 carats. The sapphires are very slightly greenish blue in hue, medium light in tone, and moderately strong in saturation with a "VVS" clarity. Condition: This ring is in very good condition. This ring was professionally appraised in 2008 by a G. Graduate gemologist stating these characteristics of the ring's metal content and gemstones. A copy of this third party appraisal written in 2008 will accompany the ring. During the 1930s, jewelers often juxtaposed diamonds with sapphires for depth of tonality resonance. Using the sapphires next to this diamond, actually fools the eye into thinking the color of this diamond is lighter. Unfortunately, we are not good photographers.
