This is a stunning antique/vintage statement ring set with a massive dark Asscher cut citrine classically high set to a 4 claw open gallery setting. Made from 9ct yellow gold, stamped'9ct' to shank, no makers or date mark present. The large stone measures 17.3 mm long x 16.8mm wide with a very deep pavilion and has a carat weight of 19.49CT estimated. The stone is in excellent condition having only a couple of faint surface scratches and two minute nibbles to one of the crown facet edges apparent when viewed with a loop. There is a small iridescent halo inclusion to the top of the stone which is just about visible in picture number 7. Dates, circa mid 1930's to mid 20. The cut of the stone is amazing with no colour zoning. Please note that the antique box is not included, this truly amazing, large and fabulous ring will be sent in a beautiful new ring box. Marked:'9CT' (tests as 9ct). Stone Size: 17.3mm x 16.8mm.

The Asscher cut is a rounded square, set with large step-cut facets, combining its large facets with a high crown and deep pavilion. Is a desirable and difficult cut because the symmetry of the cuts requires a lot of gemstone wastage during cutting process, this makes the Asscher more expensive than other common cut gemstones.
